The development of Patria TRACKX responds to EU countries’ efforts to strengthen land forces’ mobility and long-term defence strategies. The vehicle was created within the EDF-funded multinational FAMOUS development programme, in cooperation with industrial partners and member nations.
“Patria is very proud to have launched this new exceptional all-terrain tracked vehicle, Patria TRACKX, on the market. This vehicle aligns perfectly with the high-level requirements established by the FAMOUS programme member nations, and it offers an optimal solution for various applications that demand high mobility standards for military units”, says Jussi Järvinen, Executive Vice President, Protected Mobility at Patria. “We have already tested this vehicle extensively and the aim is for Patria TRACKX to be ready for serial production in 2027.”
Patria TRACKX has been designed to transport 12 soldiers with equipment, operating effectively on roads, in dense forests, steep hills, wet bogs, and deep snow. It is capable of smooth cooperation with other tracked vehicles and can serve as a platform for multiple role variants in future deployments.
The vehicle has undergone extensive testing and incorporates key design principles such as mass efficiency, wide rubber tracks, low ground pressure, a centrally positioned centre of gravity, independently adjustable hydropneumatic suspension, and a flat underside without torsion bars. These features ensure high tactical and operational mobility in demanding environments.
Patria TRACKX is positioned as a modern, cost-effective alternative to existing light tracked vehicles, especially in the 13–18 tonne weight category. Its design enables integration of different systems and ensures resilience against threats on the modern battlefield.
