RENK wins EUR 45 million order to supply transmissions for armoured Puma, Büffel and Boxer vehicles

Germany’s two top military vehicle makers, Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) and Rheinmetall, have been awarded an order to build a further fifty Puma infantry fighting vehicles. Including value added tax, the total value of the order comes to 1.087 billion euros. Of this amount, 574 million euros will go to KMW and 501 million euros to Rheinmetall Landsysteme GmbH, both of which are serving as subcontractors in the project.

RENK Group AG, a supplier of propulsion solutions for the military sector, has received further orders to deliver transmissions for several German Armed Forces vehicle programmes.

 

The contracts, valued at more than EUR 45 million, cover HSWL 256, HSWL 354 and AGB300 transmissions for the Puma infantry fighting vehicle, the Büffel armoured recovery vehicle and the Boxer armoured transport vehicle.

According to the company, the orders form part of the ongoing expansion of the Bundeswehr and contribute to strengthening the armed forces’ operational capability. The transmissions will be manufactured at RENK’s headquarters in Augsburg.
