GDELS Santa Bárbara Sistemas has announced the delivery of four state-of-the-art ASCOD "Castor" Armored Combat Vehicles (VCZAP) to the Spanish Army as part of the second phase of the Pizarro program.

The vehicles, equipped with dozer blades, were received by officials from the Spanish Ministry of Defence’s Pizarro Program Office and the Armored Systems Park and Maintenance Center (PCMASA) number 1 of the Spanish Army, signifying their readiness for operational deployment.

This delivery is part of a larger contract between the Spanish Ministry of Defense and GDELS Santa Bárbara Sistemas, which includes the production of 1 prototype and a total of 36 Castor vehicles, all equipped with dozer blades for engineering tasks. Following the initial delivery of the first six vehicles in December 2023, the project has reached a new milestone with a total of 10 vehicles now delivered, in addition to the prototype.
