The contract is valued at approximately SEK 1.5 billion, equal to about 140 million euros. Patria said the decision strengthens Sweden’s long term plans for protected mobility and deepens its collaboration within the multinational Common Armoured Vehicle System programme.
“Sweden’s decision to procure an additional batch of Patria 6×6 vehicles represents a solid sign of trust and the joint power of Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) programme, which further solidifies the interoperability and security of supply among allied nations,” says Mats Warstedt, Vice President of Market Area Nordics at Patria. He added that the company remains committed to supporting member nations through established industrial cooperation.
FMV ordered 321 Pansarterrängbil 300 vehicles in 2024 and the additional 94 bring the total number to be delivered to 415 between 2025 and 2030. Sweden is acquiring the vehicles under the Finnish led CAVS framework, which also includes Latvia, Denmark, Germany, Norway and the United Kingdom.
Patria leads development of the 6×6 system within CAVS, drawing on more than forty years of experience in protected troop transport and system integration. The company said most of the vehicle production uses the industrial capabilities of participating nations, ensuring that every member contributes to wider security of supply.
Patria has received orders for more than 1,000 vehicles under the programme and has delivered over 250 to date. The CAVS framework remains open to countries with comparable equipment needs, subject to agreement among existing members.
