President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the delegation of the German defence and industrial enterprise Rheinmetall AG led by CEO Armin Papperger.
The CEO of German technology group Rheinmetall said the company expects to supply 20 to 25 Leopard 1 main battle tanks to Ukraine in 2023.
The ramp up the production would make Rheinmetall the biggest producer of tank and artillery ammunition in the world.
The German arms producer Rheinmetall is holding negotiations with American defence industry giant Lockheed Martin to set up the HIMARS system production in Germany.
German defence industry giant Rheinmetall had a record year in 2022 and is approaching an order backlog of EUR 30 billion, said Rheinmetall’s CEO Armin Papperger.
