Rheinmetall is able to send 20-25 Leopard 1 tanks to Ukraine in 2023

The CEO of German technology group Rheinmetall, Armin Papperger, said the company expects to supply 20 to 25 Leopard 1 main battle tanks to Ukraine in 2023.

According to Armin Papperger, the rest of 88 Leopard 1 tanks that Rheinmetall has in the stock will be delivered to Ukraine next year.

The Rheinmetall CEO’s declaration was quoted by the Reuters agency yesterday.

Recently, the German government approved the export of Leopard 1 main battle tanks from industry stocks to Ukraine.

Furthermore, the governments of Germany, Netherlands, and Denmark agreed to common delivery the Laopard 1 A5 tanks from industry stocks to Ukraine.

“Within the coming months Ukraine will receive at least 100 of Leopard 1 A5 battle tanks from defence industry stocks, including the required logistic support and training, defence ministries of Germany, Netherlands, and Denmark said in a joint statement.

According to the statement, the first Leopard 1 A5 tanks will be delivered “within a few months”.
