Arquus to supply Cyprus with SHERPA vehicles equipped with AKERON missile launchers

French defence company Arquus has announced a contract to deliver 12 SHERPA Station Wagon vehicles equipped with MBDA’s AKERON missile launcher to Cyprus.

Airbus has delivered the first two of six H145M multi-role helicopters to the Republic of Cyprus. The remaining four are scheduled for delivery later this year, with the helicopters to be operated by the Cypriot National Guard.

The H145M is a military version of the proven H145 twin-engine helicopter and is equipped with Airbus’s HForce weapons system.

Cyprus is reportedly in talks with Israel to acquire Merkava Mk3 Main Battle Tanks (MBTs), according to information published by the Israeli daily newspaper, Haaretz on June 22.
