Czech Republic acquires I-Derby ER missiles for Spyder air defence system

The Czech government has decided to order 48 I-Derby ER (Extended Range) missiles manufactured by the Israeli defence giant Rafael.

PBS Velka Bites is planning to double its production over the next year. It is mainly due to the increased demand for engines for cruise missiles and UAVs. These are primarily supplied to the USA and NATO countries as well as selected countries in Southeast Asia. Missiles with engines produced by PBS are also deployed in the conflict in Ukraine. Czech Minister of Defence Jana Černochová could see for herself the high level of development and production at PBS Velká Bíteš during her visit.

Aero Vodochody and Embraer have signed an annex that strengthens and specifies areas of collaboration based on a memorandum of understanding signed in June 2022. The annex includes the potential increase in Aero's production share in the C-390 program, enhancing the value of the existing cooperation with Embraer, and joint efforts in meeting the specific requirements of the Czech Ministry of Defence for acquiring C-390 aircraft for the Czech Armed Forces. Embraer anticipates strong global demand for C-390 aircraft, with the significant involvement of the Czech aerospace industry in the production of numerous parts, Aero said in a press release.

Aero Vodochody and Embraer have signed an annex that strengthens and specifies areas of collaboration based on a memorandum of understanding signed in June 2022.

The Ministry of Defence s of the Czech Republic announced the start of negotiations on potential acquisition of the new-generation multi-mission Embraer C-390 Millennium, a military transport aircraft. The decision to start negotiating towards possible purchase the C-390 was based on a market assessment and analysis prepared by Czech Republic’s Ministry of Defence, which identified the C-390 as the most suitable solution for meeting the requirements of the Army of the Czech Republic.

The Ministry of Defence s of the Czech Republic announced the start of negotiations on potential acquisition of the new-generation multi-mission Embraer C-390 Millennium.

Denmark and the Czech Republic shall supply the Armed Forces of Ukraine with infantry fighting vehicles, battle tanks, heavy weaponry and other materiel from the production and stocks of the Czech defence industry. The supplies shall be financed by the Danish Government.

Denmark and the Czech Republic shall supply the Armed Forces of Ukraine with infantry fighting vehicles, battle tanks, heavy weaponry and other materiel.

The Czech Minister of Defence, Jana Černochová, announced during a press conference that the Czech government has approved the acquisition of 24 multi-role F-35 aircraft. The total expenditure for their integration into service is projected to amount to CZK 150 billion (USD 6.48 billion). It is anticipated that the first aircraft will be manufactured by 2029, with deliveries of all units expected to be completed by 2035.

The Czech Minister of Defence, Jana Černochová, announced during a press conference that the Czech government has approved the acquisition of 24 multi-role F-35 aircraft.

Dozens of countries which militarily support Ukraine, have once again met at the Ramstein airbase. Led by U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, the meeting’s agenda included current information from the battlefield and the future development of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and its capabilities. The Czech Republic was represented by Deputy Minister of Defence Daniel Blažkovec, who signed the so-called Letter of Intent with Defence Ministers of Denmark and the Netherlands. This agreement, which provides for further supplies of mostly Czech weaponry to Ukraine with financial support of Denmark and the Netherlands, represents a great opportunity for Czech industries.

The Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic, Major General Róbert Tóth, arrived at AERO Vodochody AEROSPACE a.s. at the invitation of the Commander of the Air Force of the Czech Republic, Major General Petr Čepelka. The aim of the meeting was to deepen mutual cooperation and to continue the effective and long-term interaction of the air forces of both countries. At the Aero factory, representatives of the Air Force visited the L-39NG aircraft and its serial production.

The L-39NG is a completely new generation of two-seat subsonic jet aircraft. It combines modern avionic systems, an extremely efficient jet engine and excellent flight characteristics.

On August 28, 2023, the Czech Air Force started the two-week home air defence exercise Resilient Sky. The drills are designed to verify and enhance operations planning and control and the command and control system itself, involving of more than 400 service members from across the Czech Air Force and dozens of air assets and ground vehicles. The national Integrated Emergency System – so-called blue-light services will participate.
