Sweden has announced new air defence investments worth SEK 3.5 billion, presented by Minister for Defence Pål Jonson alongside representatives of the Swedish Armed Forces and the Defence Materiel Administration. Jonson said, “Sweden’s defence needs to be strengthened against threats such as missiles, drones and helicopters. The best way to guarantee peace and freedom is to invest in defence. The orders also contribute to growth, jobs and security of supply. This also improves possibilities to increase production capacity in the defence industry.”

The German government has delivered the first two launchers of the IRIS-T SLS air defence system to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This system, with a range of 12 km, is manufactured by the German defence company Diehl Defence.
