Two European bids in Brazilian Army’s artillery tender

By Defence Industry Europe

Four entities have entered into the second phase of the tender for the supply of new self-propelled 155mm artillery systems for the Brazilian Army. Two of the bids involve guns produced by the European defence industry.

The Brazilian armed forces plan to acquire 36 self-propelled 155mm howitzers on a wheeled chassis. As reported by the Brazilian Ministry of Defence, the new artillery system is to be selected from the submitted offers by May 3.

A contract for the supply of two selected artillery systems for further advanced tests is then to be signed. The outcome of these tests will form the basis for any potential modifications.
