The Delivering Unmatched Thermal Capability Hastened initiative is led by the Office of the Assistant Secretary of War for Critical Technologies and the Army’s DEVCOM C5ISR Center. Its work is intended to support future systems including uncrewed aircraft, loitering munitions, thermal binoculars and weapons sights.
Under the award, Teledyne FLIR OEM will develop and demonstrate new uncooled thermal imaging technology. The company will also provide system-integration expertise aligned with the Army’s modernization priorities.
The work builds on Teledyne FLIR OEM’s investment in small-pixel-pitch uncooled thermal architectures. Its recent products are designed to support integration across defense platforms and uncrewed systems.

The initiative forms part of a wider Department of War effort to secure microelectronics supply chains and rebuild domestic production capacity for mission-critical technologies. Teledyne FLIR OEM is a U.S.-based non-traditional defense contractor with high-volume manufacturing and system-level integration capabilities.
