At the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Defence, Oleksandr Kozenko, highlighted the scale and efficiency of Ukraine’s drone production capabilities. Speaking during the panel “Innovative Defense Solutions for Future Challenges”, Kozenko stated that “Ukraine’s defence industry is currently capable of producing 10 million drones per year across multiple categories.”

Kozenko joined high-level defence officials on the panel, including Admiral Samuel Paparo of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, General Carsten Breuer of Germany, General Anil Chauhan of India, and Admiral Renato Rodrigues of Brazil. His presentation focused on Ukraine’s defence innovation, particularly the combat-proven effectiveness and cost-efficiency of Ukrainian drones.

“Ukraine has taken its drone capabilities to a new level, driving innovation in air, land, and sea applications,” Kozenko told the forum. He noted that drones now account for 80% of all battlefield strikes, and the daily operational experience of Ukrainian UAV operators is actively shaping new doctrinal approaches.

In his closing remarks, Kozenko encouraged international defence firms to partner with Ukraine’s defence industry. He called for collaboration through funding, joint ventures, and knowledge sharing to enhance global defence capabilities.
