Poland orders additional Javelin anti-tank weapon systems

Polish defence procurement agency has ordered an additional batch of FGM-148F Javelin anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) along with Light Weight Command Launch Units (LWCLUs). The deal is worth approximately USD 158 million.



According to Polish defence procurement agency, the order includes “about 500” FGM-148F Javelin missiles and 50 LWCLUs. The weapon will be delivered to the Defence Territorial Defence Forces of the Republic of Poland.

Deliveries of the FGM-148F Javelin missiles and LWCLUs will be completed by 2026, the Polish defence procurement agency said.

The order has been placed by Poland as an annex to the agreement signed with the US in 2020 under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) procedure. At the time, Poland ordered 60 Command Launch Units (CLUs) and 180 FGM-148F Javelin anti-tank guided missiles (along with a large logistics and training package, including training systems). The value of this agreement was about USD 54,5 million, and the weapon systems were delivered to Territorial Defence Forces.

Currently, the Polish Armed Forces operate two types of anti-tank guided missiles: Spike LR and Javelin.
