Before entering service, both vessels will be fitted with their reconnaissance systems and will undergo sea trials. The ships are designed to enable the collection of intelligence data across the full spectrum of maritime electronic intelligence as part of their SIGINT role.
“We are pleased to see the second Polish SIGINT ship successfully launched today. With this important project we are strengthening cooperation between Swedish and Polish industries in support of European security in the Baltic Sea region,” said Mats Wicksell, head of Saab’s business area Kockums.
Saab is the prime contractor for the programme, with Remontowa Shipbuilding S.A. constructing the vessels and MMC supporting design work, while deliveries are planned for 2027 and 2028 following installation and trials.
