In its 2024 annual report, Turkish defence company Aselsan confirmed the official integration of the Akkor 10 active protection system into the Turkish Armed Forces. The system is intended to serve as part of the protection suite for the Altay main battle tank.

Aselsan reported that Akkor 10 active protection system underwent testing to verify its performance against anti-tank weapons. The trials involved a procurement body from the Turkish Ministry of Defence and concluded with positive results, allowing the continued integration of the system with the Altay tank.

The company stated: “Aselsan will continue to develop Akkor 10 for Altay tanks, and will also prepare its integration with the modernised Leopard 2A4 tanks.” Aselsan also reported securing its first contract for integration of the Akkor system with a vehicle other than a main battle tank.

In addition to Akkor 10 active protection system, Aselsan continued development work in 2024 on the Pulat 20 and Akkor KAMA systems, which are variants intended for light armoured vehicles.
