The aerial scenarios included fixed-wing, delta-wing and mini and micro unmanned aircraft. ASELSAN placed particular emphasis on KORKUT 35’s performance against kamikaze drones and smaller UAVs, which it identified as frequently encountered threats.
In a separate scenario, KORKUT 35 fired at a moving ground target while both the target and the system were in motion. Mounted on an 8×8 tactical wheeled vehicle, it demonstrated firing accuracy and shot dispersion during the engagement, ASELSAN said.
The company lists fighter aircraft, cruise missiles, air-to-ground missiles and helicopters among the threats KORKUT 35 is designed to counter. The live-fire engagements described in its announcement involved drones and a moving ground target.
ASELSAN said the results highlighted the system’s potential to protect manoeuvring forces and critical assets. It also characterised KORKUT 35 as a cost-effective way to counter low-cost aerial threats.
