During the forum, Zelenskyy underscored the significant strides Ukraine has made in strengthening its domestic defence industry since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion. However, he acknowledged that continued growth requires collaboration with international partners to access advanced technologies, supply chains, and expertise.
“While Ukraine’s defence production has increased notably, further progress is dependent on foreign support. We are eager to work with our partners to boost our capabilities, especially in such a critical time,” Zelenskyy remarked.
Zelenskyy highlighted several achievements since the first forum, including progress in the maintenance of light artillery, localised production of assault rifles, and the establishment of facilities for manufacturing small arms ammunition.
Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to the nations represented at the event, as well as the defence companies that have actively supported Ukraine by setting up operations within the country. “We are grateful for your presence and support. Sadly, the war is not over, but we are committed to deepening our partnership not only during this conflict but beyond it,” he said.
At the event, Zelenskyy also presented state awards to several foreign defence company representatives, recognising their contributions to Ukraine’s defence industry and their work on high-tech products during the ongoing martial law.
The forum featured representatives from notable global defence companies including BAE Systems, KNDS, MBDA, D&M Holding Company, Amentum Services, Inc., AeroVironment, Inc., Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace, Romarm, CZ Colt Group, Quantum Systems, Hellenic Defence Systems, and the DI Danish Defence & Security Industries Association. Their presence marks a significant moment in Ukraine’s efforts to bolster its defence sector through international collaboration.
