By Defence Industry Europe

German defence company Diehl Defence has announced a new partnership with Israel's Elbit Systems Land. The two companies have signed a Teaming Agreement, focusing on rocket artillery ammunition for the PULS and EuroPULS launchers. This cooperation comes at a time of growing interest in advanced rocket artillery systems across Europe.

The partnership aims to address the increased demand for deep-strike capabilities, particularly within European countries and for Germany’s armed forces. Under the agreement, Diehl Defence and Elbit Systems Land will deliver rockets and advanced training rockets specifically designed for the PULS and EuroPULS launchers, catering to European military needs.

Yehuda (Udi) Vered, General Manager of Elbit Systems Land, highlighted the significance of the partnership, stating, “We’re pleased to be working with Diehl Defence in the field of rocket artillery. I believe that this collaboration is both synergetic and timely, due to the increased demand for advanced rocket artillery capabilities, considering the leading expertise of both companies.”

The EuroPULS launcher, a joint initiative between Elbit and KNDS Deutschland, aims to meet European and NATO standards for technical and operational requirements. The new agreement between Diehl and Elbit will enhance this initiative by enabling the development and production of rocket munitions within Europe. This cooperation ensures greater local capability, support, and sustainment for European countries that utilise the PULS and EuroPULS systems.

Diehl Defence brings more than 40 years of experience in the production of multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) and guided rocket systems. The company has been a reliable partner for Germany’s Bundeswehr and NATO forces, providing critical rocket artillery capabilities. With existing production capacities and extensive experience in system development, Diehl is now ready to advance into the next generation of long-range precision rocket artillery with Elbit as a strong partner.
