“We are excited to participate in MSPO for the first time. This prestigious event represents a valuable opportunity to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation that unite us with our Polish partners. We regard Poland as a nation with a rich and distinguished aerospace heritage, and as a vital member of NATO,” said Bosco da Costa Junior, President and CEO of Embraer Defense & Security. “Embraer is committed to fostering meaningful collaboration with the Polish defense industry, and we believe the KC-390 Millennium could play a key role in enhancing regional capabilities and interoperability.”
Embraer highlighted its plans to develop long-term cooperation with Poland’s defence and aerospace industry through training, maintenance, repair and overhaul, and research and development. The company is building a European ecosystem around the KC-390 to boost regional capabilities and promote interoperability among NATO allies.
The KC-390 has been in service with the Brazilian Air Force since 2019, the Portuguese Air Force since 2023, and the Hungarian Air Force since 2024. With a mission capability rate of 93 per cent and mission completion above 99 per cent, the aircraft has already been selected by 11 air forces, including eight in Europe and seven within NATO.
Designed to carry 26 tons, the KC-390 can fly at 470 knots and operate from temporary or unpaved runways such as gravel or packed earth. Its missions range from troop and cargo transport to medical evacuation, firefighting, humanitarian support and aerial refuelling, where it has demonstrated the ability to operate as both tanker and receiver.
