KC-390 Millennium

The Portuguese Air Force has officially joined Embraer and the Brazilian Air Force in a collaborative study to explore the adaptation of the KC-390 Millennium aircraft for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions. The announcement was made during a ceremony at the LAAD Defence & Security exhibition, attended by senior military and industry leaders.

The Portuguese Air Force has officially joined Embraer and the Brazilian Air Force in a collaborative study to explore the adaptation of the KC-390 Millennium aircraft for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions.

The United States Army's M142 HIMARS rocket launcher was loaded onto an Embraer KC-390 Millennium of the Portuguese Air Force (FAP). This significant testing activity took place on July 15 at Ramstein Air Base in Germany.

The United States Army’s M142 HIMARS rocket launcher was loaded onto an Embraer KC-390 Millennium of the Portuguese Air Force (FAP).

Embraer delivered the second KC-390 multi-mission aircraft to the Portuguese Air Force (FAP). The platform includes standard NATO equipment already integrated into the aircraft and meets the requirements set by the National Aeronautical Authority (AAN) of Portugal. In 2019, FAP ordered five KC-390, including a comprehensive services and support package and a flight simulator. The first aircraft entered into service in October 2023 at Beja Air Base.
