A significant aspect of this project involves the installation of advanced Netans data distribution units and Marins inertial navigation systems by Exail. This builds on previous successful deployments of Exail’s technology on the F123 class, reinforcing navigation accuracy and providing robust, cyber-secure data management systems.
The upgraded Netans system will notably improve data distribution speed and reliability. This will enable real-time data sharing across the frigate, enhancing situational awareness and operational efficiency. Its modular design allows for seamless integration and adaptability, ensuring the ships can meet evolving demands in maritime operations.
Additionally, the inclusion of the new Marins inertial navigation system will bolster the positioning accuracy of the frigates. This high-performance system will enable effective navigation, even under challenging environmental conditions, further securing the fleet’s tactical capabilities.
Jens Higgen, Regional Sales Director at Exail, expressed confidence in the partnership: “We are pleased to partner with ARCHE and Saab to deliver state-of-the-art technology for the Brandenburg-Class frigates. We are also grateful to the German Navy for their continued trust. This new contract not only reflects their ongoing satisfaction with Exail’s integrated and evolutive navigation solutions but also strengthens their trust in Exail’s expertise in delivering innovative defence technology.”
The success of this new venture reinforces Exail’s standing as a global leader in naval navigation and integrated solutions. This contract adds to a string of recent accomplishments, including partnerships involving France’s Ocean Patrol Vessels and FDI, the UK’s T31 frigates, Spain’s S80 submarines and F110 frigates, and the Netherlands and Belgium’s Anti-Submarine Warfare frigates. Exail’s proven capabilities are also demonstrated in projects with the UAE’s Gowind corvettes and the US Navy’s LCS 27, 29, 31, and Keeper-class buoy tenders.
