In a press release, the Finnish Ministry of Defence stated that replenishing the Finnish Defence Forces’ capabilities after the provision of the new support package will cost 188 million euros.
Finland has not disclosed details of the support, only that it will come from the resources of the Finnish Defence Forces. To date, Finland has provided Ukraine with defensive materials worth a total of 2 billion euros, according to a press release from the Finnish Ministry of Defence.
“The security situation in Europe is historically serious, and the outcome of Russia’s war of aggression will determine the security environment in Europe and Finland. Together with our allies and partners, we will continue to support Ukraine,” said the Finnish Minister of Defence, Antti Häkkänen.
Finland has consistently provided military and humanitarian support to Ukraine since 2022. At the end of March, the Finnish Ministry of Defence announced that it would provide 30 million euros for the purchase of artillery ammunition for the Armed Forces of Ukraine as part of a Czech-led initiative aimed at purchasing ammunition outside Europe.
