The new partnerships follow the latest Blue Magic Netherlands event in Eindhoven. The event used a “shark tank”-style format in which Dutch startups and scaleups pitched technologies directly to GA-ASI decision makers.
The most recent edition drew more than 350 attendees from the Netherlands’ aerospace, defence and high-technology communities. GA-ASI said the new investments build on the success of previous events.
GA-ASI has selected six Dutch companies for new investment and collaboration. The company is also increasing its investment in Emergent Swarm, which it first identified at Blue Magic Netherlands 2024.
Emergent Swarm is working with GA-ASI to further mature its swarming autonomy detection capability. The additional investment reflects continued collaboration beyond the newest group of selected companies.
“Blue Magic Netherlands is our window into the Dutch innovation ecosystem,” said Brad Lunn, Managing Director, GA ASI. “We are not just scouting ideas. We are deploying capital, engineering resources, and access to platforms to help these companies scale. We’re making these new investments because it is clear to us that the Netherlands is one of the most dynamic technology hubs in Europe.”
The six new GA-ASI portfolio companies include OPT/NET B.V. GA-ASI, together with its GA-Intelligence affiliate, will work with OPT/NET to explore collaboration opportunities for AI-related missions, including drone swarm management and dark vessel detection.
GA-ASI will work with Vaeridion B.V. to evaluate its advanced battery pack technology. The assessment will consider potential use in current and future GA-ASI platforms.
The company will also evaluate Touchwaves B.V.’s haptic technology for remotely piloted unmanned aircraft system environments. GA-ASI said the review will assess potential benefits for long-duration missions and aircrew information overload.
GA-ASI and GA-Intelligence will work with FDCL Defence B.V., also referred to in the release as Fiducial. The cooperation will explore the effectiveness of the company’s technology for massively scaled, low-cost future platforms.
GA-ASI will evaluate Vydar Commercial B.V.’s technology in relevant GPS-denied environments. The assessment will also involve GA-ASI and GA-EMS platforms.
Emproof B.V. will also join the portfolio. GA-ASI said it will evaluate the effectiveness of Emproof’s data protection technology for possible use on current and future platforms.
GA-ASI said it expects to announce additional investments from the 2025 Blue Magic Netherlands cohort in the coming months. Those decisions will follow ongoing technical evaluations and co-development discussions.
