The arrangement brings together SIG Sauer’s product design and engineering with Nordic production, assembly, testing and distribution. The companies said the model is intended to increase regional supply capacity for military and law-enforcement customers.
“As we continue to meet the growing needs of our international customers and partners, we are building capacity through high-quality and well-established local relationships,” said Ron Cohen, chief executive officer of SIG Sauer. “Our partnership in Sweden with AMEXCI and MP-SEC will support military modernization programs in the Nordics and position our combined capabilities to help meet NATO’s future needs, all with SIG SAUER precision craftsmanship and premium quality.”
AMEXCI specializes in industrial 3D printing for defense, aerospace and automotive customers. Its production facilities in Sweden and Finland provide the manufacturing base for the partnership.
MP-SEC contributes assembly, testing and distribution capabilities across Nordic defense organizations and law-enforcement authorities. Its role connects the new production capacity with customers across the region.
“This milestone demonstrates that advanced manufacturing in the Nordics can be scaled to support future military requirements and strengthen regional defense readiness,” said Edvin Resebo, chief executive officer of AMEXCI. “With SIG’s commitment to the region, we see this as just the beginning.”
The cooperation forms part of SIG Sauer’s wider effort to increase production capacity in Europe through established local partners. The U.S.-headquartered company operates partnerships in more than 90 countries and traces its European industrial heritage to Switzerland and Germany.
“Our partnership with SIG SAUER builds on our expertise with a premier company that shares our commitment to service and delivering technology for the most critical decisions and operations,” said Pär Biörsson, chief executive officer of MP-SEC. “We’re proud to expand our partnership with SIG SAUER because it aligns with our ambition to continue industrial investment into the Nordics and help ensure a resilient local capability.”
The Nordics serve as a logistics and supply hub for NATO, giving local production a wider role in regional defense planning. SIG Sauer said the partnership will combine its global product expertise with manufacturing and distribution capacity closer to Nordic customers.
SIG Sauer is the official handgun supplier to every branch of the U.S. military. The company is also delivering weapons and ammunition under the U.S. Army’s Next Generation Squad Weapon program.
