Germany awards major contract to AeroVironment subsidiary Telerob for advanced ground robots

By Defence Industry Europe

AeroVironment (AV), through its German subsidiary Telerob, has secured a major contract to supply 41 advanced uncrewed ground vehicles (UGVs) to the German Federal Armed Forces. Deliveries of the telemax HT300 systems are set to begin in summer 2025, with further orders expected through to 2027.

The contract follows a competitive procurement process, during which the HT300 was chosen to meet Germany’s growing operational needs in explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) and counter-improvised explosive device (IED) missions. The HT300 is engineered for use in high-risk environments, offering advanced mobility and a powerful manipulator arm capable of operating in unstable and uneven terrain.

“This award marks a major milestone in Telerob’s 30-year legacy of innovation and trusted performance,” said Florian Gruener, Managing Director of Telerob and Product Line General Manager for Uncrewed Ground Vehicles. “It is one of the most significant contracts we’ve secured in the past 15 years and further reinforces our longstanding, strategic partnership with the German Armed Forces.”

The new systems will be manufactured at Telerob’s modern production facility in Ostfildern, Germany, ensuring high standards of precision and reliability. AV describes the telemax HT300 as part of a broader portfolio of uncrewed solutions aimed at improving force protection, mission efficiency, and the safety of military personnel in complex environments.
