By Defence Industry Europe

Germany has delivered a batch of unspecified number of interceptors for Patriot air defence systems to Ukraine, according to a statement from the German Federal Government

The type of interceptors provided to Ukraine has not been disclosed by the German Government. However, such shipments usually include the PAC-3 CRI interceptors. Ukrainian Air Force sources report that PAC-3 CRI missiles were successfully used to intercept the Kh-47M2 Kinzal hypersonic ballistic missiles.

Since 2022, the German Federal Government has been consistently strengthening the air defence capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As reported by Defence Industry Europe, Berlin has transferred two Patriot air defence system launchers, two units of the IRIS-T SLM air defence system with additional missiles, 46 self-propelled anti-aircraft guns Gepard, and 500 Stinger missiles.

Furthermore, the German government plans to provide Ukraine with additional air defence assets. In the near future, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive six IRIS-T SLM air defence systems, 22 launchers of IRIS-T SLS air defence systems, and six TRML-4D air surveillance radars.
