Lockheed Martin to produce Hellfire missiles for European countries

The United States Department of Defence (DoD) has awarded Lockheed Martin a contract for the production of a new batch of AGM-114R2 Hellfire air-to-ground missiles.

 

This contract is valued at approximately USD 483.5 million. However, the exact number of missiles ordered was not disclosed in the official statement.

 

 

Under this contract, the AGM-114R2 Hellfire missiles will be delivered to the U.S. Army and to three European countries: the Czech Republic, France, and Poland.

These countries plan to deploy the Hellfire missiles on their attack helicopters: the AH-1Z Viper for the Czech Republic, the Tiger HAD for France, and the AW149 for Poland.

Additionally, France will have the capability to equip its MQ-9 Reaper drones with these missiles.

Lockheed Martin, an American defense industry giant, is the manufacturer of the Hellfire missiles.
