Oshkosh secures contract to produce ROGUE missile launchers for U.S. Marine Corps

By Defence Industry Europe

On 8 January, the United States Department of Defense announced a USD 30 million contract with Oshkosh Defense LLC for the continued production and delivery of ROGUE wheeled missile launchers. The deal ensures that these cutting-edge systems will be provided to the U.S. Marine Corps, with full funding already allocated and completion set for the end of 2026.

This agreement builds on the initial production phase launched in October 2023 under a preliminary contract. The ROGUE launchers are based on modified Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) chassis, a platform also developed by Oshkosh Defense, and feature adaptations for remote control and autonomous operation.

Designed as the core of the Marine Corps’ Navy-Marine Expeditionary Ship Interdiction System (NMESIS), these launchers are equipped to deploy Kongsberg NSM (marketed in the U.S. as the RGM-184A) anti-ship missiles. Their mission extends beyond defence to include a proactive interdiction role, vital for the Marine Corps’ evolving Pacific strategy.

Compact and lightweight, the ROGUE systems are engineered for rapid deployment across island chains and atolls in the Pacific. Additionally, their reliance on standardised U.S. military vehicle platforms simplifies logistics, enhancing operational efficiency in remote and dispersed locations.
