SISU unveils GTT all-terrain vehicle at SecD-Day event in Finland

By Defence Industry Europe

Finnish defence vehicle manufacturer SISU has revealed its latest innovation, the SISU GTT All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV), at the SecD-Day event. The new vehicle joins the SISU GTP family, offering a high-performance, multi-purpose platform designed for deployment across all geographical environments, including extreme climates and rugged Nordic terrains.

The SISU GTP family comprises a range of vehicles sharing design solutions and key components, enhancing operational efficiency and security of supply. This approach ensures cost-effectiveness across the vehicle life cycle while maintaining high operational availability. The SISU GTP 4×4 wheeled vehicle has been chosen as the platform for the multinational Common Tactical Vehicle (CTV) programme, a joint initiative between Finland and Sweden. Deliveries of the GTP 4×4 are ongoing, with units already in operational use.

The SISU GTT programme ensures security of supply through domestic design expertise, local manufacturing, and in-country lifecycle support. It originates from the renowned Bronco ATV design by ST Engineering Land Systems, now integrated with advanced SISU GTP technologies. This fusion results in a vehicle that benefits from the proven reliability of the Bronco ATV while incorporating locally sourced components for improved adaptability and sustainability.

With a strong emphasis on flexibility, protection, and mobility, the SISU GTT is designed to meet various mission requirements. Its modular construction allows for multiple configurations, including an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) suitable for medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) and command, control, and communications (C3) roles. Additionally, a cargo platform variant supports up to five tonnes of load, accommodating any 10-foot container-type equipment such as a mortar module or mission-specific systems.

The unveiling of the SISU GTT represents a significant advancement in military vehicle technology, offering a versatile and robust solution for modern operational demands. With its adaptability and state-of-the-art engineering, the vehicle is expected to enhance the capabilities of armed forces operating in challenging environments.
