INDY project was officially launched during the 2-day work meeting on February 16-17.

On January 30-31, the 5G Communications for Peacekeeping and Defence (5G COMPAD) project consortium met with representatives from European Ministries of Defence (MoD) to discuss and agree on use cases to be developed within the scope of this initiative and the further steps of the project. The two-day workshop was hosted by Thales and took place in the company's facility in Paris, France.

The 5G COMPAD project aims to demonstrate the relevance of 5G mobile communications technology in support of sustained information superiority.

Rheinmetall is participating in the INDY project, a part of the EU Green Deal. The project is supported by the European Defence Fund. INDY stands for Energy Independent and Efficient Deployable Military Camps. The aim is to present EU member states with options for efficient operation of energy systems in forward operating bases.

Lynred announced the launch of HEROIC, a European Defence Fund project aimed at developing highly-advanced electronic components for next-generation infrared (IR) sensors.

On 14 December 2022 during a brief ceremony in Brussels, the OCCAR-EA Director Matteo Bisceglia, and the Director-General ‘Defence Industry and Space’ of the European Commission Mr Pesonen, signed the Contribution Agreements for two EDF Projects that OCCAR-EA will be managing under indirect management mode. The two projects are the European Patrol Corvette (EPC) and the European Hypersonic Defence Interceptor (EU-HYDEF).
