Photonis, a subsidiary of French optronics provider Exosens, has been awarded a critical role in a seven-year contract from the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) in collaboration with Qioptiq Limited. The contract, part of the Dismounted Close Combat project, focuses on equipping British soldiers with advanced TALON Fused Weapon Sights to enhance their combat capabilities, Exosens said in a press release.

Photonis, part of Exosens and world leading manufacturer of image intensifier tubes, has supplied cutting-edge 4G+ P45 (white phosphor) 18mm image intensifier tubes to Theon Sensors for integration by its local partner Force Ordnance (Australia) into 120 NYX binoculars utilized by the Australian Army. These binoculars are pivotal in training Australia's allied forces across South East Asia and the Pacific, facilitated by distributor Force Ordnance. Crucially, these image intensifier tubes, manufactured outside the USA, are ‘ITAR-free,’ allowing seamless international export without restrictions and highly facilitate the sharing of technology and collaboration with Australia’s regional strategic partners.
