In June alone, Turkish exports in this sector rose by 10.4% year-on-year, amounting to USD 623 million. Monthly figures confirm continued growth, with USD 383 million in January (up 16%), USD 434 million in February (up 44%), USD 884.2 million in March, and a record USD 539 million in April — a 54% increase year-on-year.
“The Turkish defence and aerospace sector is a key factor not only for national security but also for the development of modern technologies, industry, and the entire economy,” the press release stated. This ongoing growth is seen as vital for the country’s strategic and economic advancement.
In 2024, 55.4% of Turkey’s defence and aerospace exports were directed to Europe and NATO allies, with the United States listed among the most important clients. This highlights Turkey’s integration with key Western markets despite broader geopolitical shifts.
Turkey has also established itself as a global leader in unmanned systems, dominating around 65% of the world market for both armed and unarmed unmanned aerial vehicles since 2018. This dominance is underpinned by advanced technological capabilities held by both state-owned and private Turkish companies.
