The talks came as its commander reported that Ukrainian F-16 pilots had shot down more than 3,150 aerial targets during the war.
A delegation led by Air Force commander Lt. Gen. Anatolii Kryvonozhko met Lockheed Martin representatives to discuss Ukraine’s fighter capabilities.
Conor McGuire, the company’s F-16 capability development lead, praised the work of Ukrainian pilots and ground crews and expressed an intention to help improve the aircraft Ukraine already operates, the statement said.
“Our pilots are using the F-16s available to them as effectively as possible with limited ammunition stocks,” Kryvonozhko said.
“Using a range of weapons, Ukrainian F-16 pilots have already shot down more than 3,150 aerial targets: 666 cruise missiles and about 2,500 UAVs of various types, and carried out more than 650 airstrikes against enemy ground targets,” he added.
