Ukrainian Ministry of Defence approves domestically produced Pernach RCWS

By Defence Industry Europe

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defence has formally approved the domestically produced Pernach remotely controlled weapon station (RCWS) for operational use within its armed forces, as announced by the Ministry’s press service. This approval represents a significant step in Ukraine’s initiative to enhance its defence capabilities through locally developed military technology.

The Pernach RCWS is outfitted with a 7.62 mm turret-mounted machine gun and a sophisticated control system that includes a battery and camera. Designed for secure remote operation, the station is controlled from a safe location, where operators use a control console and FPV (First-Person View) goggles to view live video footage transmitted from the system’s camera.

As a versatile, advanced RCWS, Pernach is compatible with various types of armoured vehicles and stationary platforms, providing crucial flexibility in its deployment. The system’s modular design allows it to be customised to meet a broad range of mission requirements, making it adaptable across different combat and operational scenarios.

One of the defining features of the Pernach RCWS is its versatility, allowing it to integrate an array of weaponry, including automatic grenade launchers, anti-tank missile systems, and additional firearms. This adaptability makes the “Pernach” effective against both ground and aerial threats, offering a multi-functional tool for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in diverse battlefield conditions.
