Yugoimport unveils Nora B-52 NG artillery system

During the 11th International Defense Exhibition Partner 2023, Serbian defence company Yugoimport has unveiled its new 155mm self-propelled artillery howtizer Nora B-52 NG Perun.

 

The next generation artillery weapon, fully automated, advanced, and highly autonomous 155mm gun howitzer, is expected to further enhance the capabilities of Serbian Defense Forces in the times to come, and be one of our trump cards for the foreign market, as well, Yugoimport said.

Nora B-52 NG – General data:

  • The weapon is made by integration of 155 mm weapon module on a 8×8 chassis;
  • Unlike the previous versions of ‘Nora’ self-propelled gun howitzers, which were mounted on KAMAZ truck chassis, this automated system is mounted on MAN truck chassis;
  • The weapon module is operated from the driver’s cabin, and according to its features it may be considered a 155 mm RCWS (remotely controlled weapon station);
  • Barrel length is 52 calibers; the maximum range with an ERFB projectile is 32.5 km, 41.5 km with an ERFB BB projectile, and up to 52 km with a V-LAP projectile;
  • Capable of Multiple Round Simultaneous Impact (MRSI) operation, firing 3 rounds on a target at 30 km range;
  • Loading is fully automatic, with a back-up manual mode of operation in case of a failure;
  • Combat set includes 30 projectiles in the automatic loader plus 6 stored on the vehicle;
  • Field of fire is 30 degrees in azimuth;
  • Ready to fire in 60 seconds, counting from the time of emplacement to firing of the first round;
  • Combat mass is up to 40 tons; length in the marching position is 2.62 m; height in the marching position is 3.9 m;
  • Maximum rate of fire is 4 rounds per minute;
  • Equipped with an inertial navigation system (INS), and a back-up satellite navigation (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo);
  • Crew consists of 4 members positioned in the driver’s cabin: 2 in the front seats (driver and commander), and 2 more in the back seats (gunner and gun loader);
