Having already been successfully evaluated on land in 2020 and 2021, the HELMA-P system has proven to be as effective and accurate in neutralizing hostile drones at sea. These tests pave the way for further development of the prototype with the aim of integrating it into Navy vessels in the future.
The integration of drones into operations represents a significant evolution in conflicts, particularly in naval combat. At sea, aerial drones can be employed to monitor, disrupt, or attack ships and aircraft. The Navy is fully engaged in anti-drone warfare research conducted with the other branches of the military and the DGA, with the goal of acquiring specific capabilities.
