The contract enables the U.S. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center to provide a comprehensive range of training systems and support services. These include aircrew and maintenance training devices, courseware, operations, logistics support and engineering services.
“This contract award continues the nearly 30-year C-130J franchise and reflects the strong relationship and collaboration between the U.S. Government, Lockheed Martin and our industry partners,” said Todd Morar. “This latest contract reaffirms the critical importance of the C-130J MATS program in providing 21st Century Security solutions that support the mission readiness of C-130J operational units across the U.S. military.”
The C-130J MATS program currently supports multiple branches, including Air Mobility Command, the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve Command. It also serves the U.S. Marine Corps, Air Force Special Operations Command and Air Education and Training Command.
Under the new contract, aircrew training support will be expanded to additional services. These include the U.S. Navy Reserve and the U.S. Coast Guard.
The C-130J Super Hercules remains a widely used tactical airlift platform with operators in 28 countries. More than 560 aircraft have been delivered, and the global fleet has accumulated over 3 million flight hours.
