The agreement extends an existing programme under which Indra is already supplying the same systems for a previous batch of six submarines. With this latest contract, the total number of platforms equipped with these capabilities will reach twelve.
Indra will deliver its fully digital electronic warfare system alongside an advanced navigation radar. The systems are designed to enhance protection, surveillance and situational awareness in demanding operational environments.
Ana Belén Buendía, Head of Naval Business Unit at Indra, said, “with the signing of this new contract, Indra consolidates its role as a key technology partner in one of the most advanced naval programmes in Europe, which is of strategic importance for Germany, Norway and the European defence industry as a whole”.
The Type 212CD is a next-generation conventional submarine featuring air-independent propulsion and a common design for both nations. It is intended to strengthen protection of North Atlantic waters and ensure a high level of interoperability with NATO.
Indra said the contract reflects its ongoing commitment to delivering advanced technologies for next-generation naval platforms. The company added that the programme contributes to strengthening European technological sovereignty in the defence sector.
