BAE Systems has delivered the first three BvS10 Armoured Personnel Carriers to Sweden, Germany and the United Kingdom, marking a milestone in the Collaborative All-Terrain Vehicle (CATV) programme. The ceremonial handover is part of a wider framework agreement that will see a total of 663 vehicles delivered by 2028.

The agreement includes 236 vehicles for the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV), 60 for the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD), and 140 for the German Federal Ministry of Defence (BAAINBw). In addition, Germany has contracted a further 227 vehicles under the same framework, highlighting the flexibility of the joint procurement model.

“The extreme mobility capabilities offered by the BvS10, and the multiple uses that it enables, provides the user nations with a reliable, high tech and modern capability that is instantly ready for missions in the harshest environments,” said Tommy Gustafsson-Rask, managing director of BAE Systems Hägglunds. “And because of the streamlined procurement model, nations will easily be able to join seamlessly and receive the advanced capabilities the BvS10 provides.”

The BvS10 is designed for mobility across snow, ice, rock, sand, mud, swamps and steep mountain terrain, and it can also operate in flooded areas or coastal waters thanks to its amphibious capability. Its articulated mobility system is based on NATO standards, and the vehicle can be configured for troop transport, logistics, medical evacuation, recovery, command and control, and weapons carrier variants.

BvS10s are already in service with Austria, France, the Netherlands, Sweden and the United Kingdom. The new deliveries expand its operational reach and reinforce the multinational approach to procurement under the framework agreement.
