Bell Textron Inc., a subsidiary of Textron Inc., has signed Letters of Intent with Ukrainian authorities to explore industrial cooperation and assess a potential sale of military helicopters. The agreements were signed in Washington by representatives from Bell, the Ministry of Economy, Ecology, and Agriculture of Ukraine, and UkraineInvest.

The initiative relates to a potential procurement of the AH-1Z Viper and UH-1Y Venom aircraft for the Ukrainian Armed Forces under a Foreign Military Sale programme. Bell would work with the U.S. Government to supply the aircraft, aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s operational capabilities.

“We are proud to announce this agreement, and the potential to supply these incredible aircraft to Ukraine,” said Jeffrey Schloesser, senior vice president, Strategic Pursuits, Bell. “This initiative has been in development for some time, and we look forward to bringing it to completion.”

The AH-1Z and UH-1Y are among Bell’s leading defence platforms, known for their high compatibility and performance in joint operations. Designed to operate together, the aircraft share 85% parts commonality, enabling efficient logistics and maintenance.

“We are confident that H-1s can play a pivotal role in further building defense capabilities in Ukraine, providing a much-needed upgrade while strengthening current Ukrainian air support,” continued Schloesser.
