Under the agreement the company will provide two full systems, each containing two aircraft, to enable parallel deployments across several regions. This approach is intended to strengthen operational coverage and improve monitoring capacity throughout European waters.
Central to the delivery is the Tekever AR5, a medium-altitude and long-endurance UAS designed for demanding maritime missions. It can operate Beyond Line of Sight and fly for up to 12 hours in the configuration selected by EMSA.
The AR5 features a modular payload suite built to match different mission needs and includes EO/IR cameras, maritime radar, AIS receivers, high-capacity SATCOM, and EPIRB antennas. A newly introduced second gimbal supports automatic detection and further advances the platform’s AI-driven functions.
The aircraft has been in service since 2017 and has supported operations in Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, and the Baltic States. EMSA and national authorities use it for wide-area maritime surveillance covering situational awareness, fisheries control, law enforcement, environmental protection, and sea rescue tasks that include a life-raft release capability.
Nadia Maaref, Managing Director of Tekever France, said, “With this contract, EMSA is once again placing its trust in Tekever’s proven technology. Our systems continue to support maritime surveillance, allowing authorities to improve situational awareness and deliver real-time intelligence where it matters most.”
