American Rheinmetall said the RCH 155 artillery system continues to demonstrate its relevance as the U.S. Army evaluates options for the Mobile Tactical Cannon programme. The system is being presented by American Rheinmetall and partner KNDS as a future mobile fires capability.

The RCH 155 combines a fully automated 155mm L52 artillery system with high mobility. American Rheinmetall said the system allows crews to deliver rapid and accurate fires while remaining protected inside an armoured capsule.

The company said the RCH 155 can fire, reposition and fire again within seconds. It said this capability gives manoeuvre forces an advantage against modern counterfire threats.

American Rheinmetall also highlighted the system’s reduced crew burden and survivability. The company said these features are intended to support mobile formations operating in contested environments.

The statement said the RCH 155 offers strong shoot-and-scoot performance. American Rheinmetall also described its shoot-on-the-move capability as unmatched by any other artillery system.

The company said the system is built to keep pace with the U.S. Army’s most mobile formations. It said the RCH 155 is intended to deliver the overmatch those forces need in contested environments.
