Babcock Land Defence awarded the framework on behalf of the Ministry of Defence. The companies did not disclose its value or expected order volumes.
The agreement covers components for the Light Gun and BAE Systems’ wider artillery portfolio. It is intended to keep those systems available for operational use.
The Light Gun is designed for mobility and reliability. BAE Systems described it as one of the world’s most battle-tested artillery systems.

“The Light Gun continues to demonstrate value through its mobility, reliability and battlefield effectiveness,” Ellis said. “We are committed to continuing our support for this important capability and the service members who rely on it.”
The deal follows BAE Systems’ investment in UK artillery production. The company is working to restore domestic capacity and support the supply of British-designed 105mm and 155mm barrels from Sheffield.
