Bertin Exensor signs major defence agreement with Nordic countries to deliver advanced sensor systems

By Defence Industry Europe

Bertin Exensor, a Swedish subsidiary of the French technology group Bertin Technologies, has signed a long-term framework agreement with the defence authorities of Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and Norway. The 10-year agreement will enable the delivery and further development of the company’s advanced Unattended Ground Sensor (UGS) systems, strengthening the region’s defence capabilities.

The deal includes new equipment, system upgrades, and comprehensive technical support to enhance protection, surveillance, and intelligence operations across the Nordic countries. It will also support continued innovation in UGS technology to meet evolving operational needs.

The centrepiece of the agreement is Bertin Exensor’s Flexnet UGS system, which integrates seismic, acoustic, magnetic, and thermal sensors to detect, classify, and identify potential threats. The system is used for both civilian and military applications, including intelligence gathering, reconnaissance, and the protection of critical infrastructure.

“For Bertin Exensor, this agreement confirms that our long-term efforts in the field of Unattended Ground Sensors have been well-directed, that our system solutions are highly valued, and that they play a crucial role for the soldiers in the field,” said Pontus Agerteg, Head of Sales Nordic at Bertin Exensor.

The agreement also includes training and operational support to ensure the optimal use of the technology across the participating nations. This reinforces Bertin Exensor’s position as a key strategic partner in the Nordic defence sector.

With operations in Sweden and the United Kingdom, Bertin Exensor employs 75 staff and has been part of Bertin Technologies since 2017. The company is recognised globally for delivering innovative sensor solutions in support of defence and security missions.
