BlueHalo showcases cutting-edge C-UAS technologies at CENTCOM’s Desert Guardian 1.0

By Defence Industry Europe

BlueHalo, a prominent American defence company, has successfully demonstrated its innovative counter-drone technologies during Desert Guardian 1.0. The event, hosted by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) at Fort Drum, New York, highlighted the company’s advanced Uncrewed Aerial System (UAS) detection and tracking solutions.

At the core of BlueHalo’s presentation was its VigilantHalo platform, a software-driven Command-and-Control (C2) system. VigilantHalo integrates data from diverse sensors into a unified interface, providing comprehensive airspace awareness, reducing operator workloads, and improving response times against UAS threats.

This secure, versatile system is adaptable for various uses, including military, commercial, and municipal applications. Its ability to function across cloud, mobile, and fixed-site installations ensures flexibility for users operating in command centres or field environments.

James Batt, Chief Growth Officer at BlueHalo, emphasised the importance of these advancements in addressing modern challenges. He noted that Desert Guardian 1.0 allowed BlueHalo to demonstrate real-world applications of its technology to military leaders and operators.

BlueHalo also showcased several other counter-drone systems during the exercise. These included the Titan-SV and Titan platforms, which offer radio-frequency detection and precision tracking, and the LOCUST Directed Energy Laser Weapon System, designed for high-energy engagement of aerial threats.

Additionally, the company introduced its Freedom Eagle (FE-1) Next-Generation Missile, engineered to counter larger UAS and air threats. The missile integrates seamlessly with existing infrastructure, enhancing its operational utility.

Mary Clum, President of BlueHalo’s Space and Products Portfolio, highlighted the collaborative nature of Desert Guardian 1.0. She stated that the event underscored the importance of partnerships between industry leaders and government agencies in advancing innovative defence solutions.
