Conducted by DGA Flight Test (DGAEV) from the Cazaux site in a maritime zone, the test involved a series of firing runs that simulated operational scenarios. The objective was to measure the impact of shocks and vibrations experienced by an instrumented model of the Talios designation pod during cannon firing campaigns on the Mirage 2000D, which has undergone a mid-life upgrade.
The Talios pod, developed by Thales, is part of the new configuration of the Mirage 2000D RMV. It is equipped with advanced capabilities such as laser-guided air-to-ground weapon guidance, long-distance damage assessment, and target reconnaissance. This integration marks a significant enhancement in the operational versatility and capability of the Mirage 2000D.
The successful testing of the Talios pod on the Mirage 2000D RMV represents a major advancement in the French Air Force’s aerial combat and reconnaissance capabilities. With the addition of the Talios pod, the Mirage 2000D is better equipped to handle a range of mission requirements, ensuring precision and effectiveness in various operational scenarios.
