According to the companies, the first agreement covers support services from Baykar to integrate and demonstrate the capabilities of the AL TARIQ family of all-weather, day-and-night, long-range precision-guided munitions on the high-altitude, long-endurance Bayraktar AKINCI platform. The contract was signed by Hamad Al Marar, managing director and chief executive of EDGE, and Haluk Bayraktar, chief executive of Baykar.
The companies stated that the AL TARIQ line of munitions is designed as a modular and mission-proven system intended for precision strike operations. According to the announcement, the integration is intended to enhance operational flexibility and expand strike capabilities for AKINCI users.
A second agreement, signed by Murat Kilinc, business development director at Baykar, and Yousef Al Blooshi, senior sales manager at EDGE, establishes a commercial framework for joint marketing activities. The arrangement allows both companies to offer products from each other’s portfolios as part of future customer proposals.
EDGE and Baykar said the agreement also creates opportunities for broader cross-selling across their wider defence product ranges. According to the companies, the partnership reflects increasing demand for integrated defence solutions combining platforms and precision weapons.
Al Marar said, “The defence industry is moving towards integrated, end-to-end solutions, and this partnership with Baykar is a direct reflection of that.”
“By combining our advanced and proven smart weapon systems with the AKINCI UCAV platform, we are demonstrating the value of collaborative innovation in delivering precision, scalability, and operational flexibility across complex mission environments,” he added. “Together, we can offer our customers across international markets a truly seamless, integrated capability that meets the highest operational standards.”
Bayraktar said, “Thanks to the different ammunition integrations we have added to our Bayraktar AKINCI platform, we offer our users a much wider range of options and operational flexibility in the field.”
“With this strategic collaboration, we are enhancing the capabilities of our platforms while further strengthening our global partnerships and leading position in the defence industry,” he added.
The companies described the agreements as the latest stage in a broader strategic partnership focused on expanding precision-strike capabilities for Baykar’s unmanned aerial systems customers. The announcement follows an earlier agreement to integrate EDGE’s DESERT STING 16 guided-glide weapon onto the Bayraktar TB2 platform.
