The three-week testing, conducted by the Bundeswehr’s Army Concepts and Capabilities Development Centre, evaluated the use of unmanned systems in tactical scenarios. This trial showcased the potential of the DroneBox and UGV system in providing real-time surveillance and coordinated defence support in complex environments.
Elistair’s KHRONOS DroneBox offers uninterrupted, mobile aerial surveillance, ideal for contested environments. When integrated with ARX Robotics’ GEREON RCS UGV, the system combines extended operational range with increased mobility, enabling military units to monitor large areas, adapt to evolving threats, and enhance situational awareness while reducing risks to personnel.
“Traditional aerial drones have limited flight durations, but the DroneBox significantly extends their operational time. Combined with our GEREON RCS UGV, this solution becomes even more robust and versatile, improving both range and mobility,” said Marc Wietfeld, CEO of ARX Robotics. He highlighted how the GEREON acts as a crucial link between the drone and end-users, ensuring seamless intelligence transmission.
Steve Allcock, Head of Sales and Partnerships in Europe at Elistair, remarked, “Integrating our KHRONOS DroneBox with ARX Robotics’ UGV highlights the critical role of autonomous system cooperation in addressing modern defence challenges, while reducing risks for military personnel.”
