EPI and Lockheed Martin explore collaboration in aerospace and defence sectors

By Defence Industry Europe

EPI, a key entity of the UAE’s EDGE Group, is exploring future collaboration opportunities with PZL Mielec, a Lockheed Martin company, to advance innovation in aerospace and defence. The discussions follow the signing of a Letter of Intent at IDEX 2025, aimed at building mutual capabilities and expanding international industrial partnerships.

A delegation from EPI and Lockheed Martin visited PZL Mielec’s facility in Poland, the largest Lockheed Martin production site outside the United States. The site is one of Poland’s leading aircraft manufacturing hubs and plays a crucial role in regional and global aerospace supply chains.

Talks focused on combining EPI’s precision engineering expertise—supporting major platforms like Airbus, Boeing, Dassault, and Leonardo—with PZL Mielec’s strengths in defence aerospace. Potential areas of cooperation include subcontracting, outsourcing, knowledge exchange, and advanced manufacturing practices.

The engagement is part of a broader effort to drive sustainable growth, develop skilled workforces, and enhance global competitiveness in aerospace and defence sectors. “We are committed to fostering innovation and driving industrial excellence in collaboration with global partners,” said EPI CEO Khalid Al Breiki.

PZL Mielec’s General Director Janusz Zakręcki highlighted the strategic importance of the initiative, stating, “Our cooperation with EPI reflects a shared vision to strengthen international ties and boost manufacturing capabilities across borders.”
