The Patria AMV XP 8×8 is considered one of the leading armoured fighting vehicles globally, known for its advanced survivability against diverse threats. By integrating the Trophy® APS, the vehicle gains enhanced protection from anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs), rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs), drones, and other anti-tank threats.
In addition to improved protection, the integration of Trophy APS on the AMV XP introduces the Fire Source Location (FSL) capability. This system detects enemy fire and transmits the azimuth and distance of the shooter to the vehicle, allowing the crew to respond using any available weapon system.
The system also supports information sharing by relaying the enemy’s position through the Battle Management System (BMS) to allied forces. This feature enhances situational awareness and enables coordinated responses to enemy attacks.
The integration between the Patria AMV XP and the Trophy APS combines two mature, field-proven solutions, both of which are operational within NATO. The collaboration also addresses emerging challenges, particularly in Arctic conditions, where enhanced protection is crucial.
EuroTrophy, based in Germany, serves as the European hub for the Trophy APS, which is the only European-made, combat-proven, NATO-fielded active protection system. The company offers comprehensive support, including vehicle integration, maintenance, and through-life service to ensure reliable operation.
“EuroTrophy is dedicated to the European defence community and is committed to supplying state-of-the-art life-saving capabilities,” EuroTrophy said in a press release.
